More KidZania facilities are re-opening their doors

As the recovery process amid the COVID-19 pandemic continues, 11 KidZania Metropolises have opened their doors once again. KidZania Dubai, KidZania Moscow, KidZania Kuala Lumpur, KidZania Dallas and KidZania Istanbul are the most recent reopenings.

KidZania Dubai closed its doors on 15 March to prevent the spread of COVID-19 cases in the territory, as mandated by the government. As the number of cases in Dubai is decreasing, and following hygiene and social distancing restrictions and protocols required by local authorities, KidZania Dubai welcomed visitors back on July 4th, 2020 to 50% capacity.

KidZania Moscow, meanwhile, closed on March 17th as mandated by local authorities. With culture and recreation centres, fitness clubs and other attractions are starting to reopen, KidZania Moscow reopened its doors with 50% of its capacity on July 13th after obtaining the approval from the local Trade Commission and complying with the hygiene requirements established by the local government.

KidZania Kuala Lumpur had a closure forced by authorities on March 18th. After four months and a decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases registered, the local government announced that the Movement Control Order (lockdown) dictated in this city would enter a two-month recovery plan to gradually resume operations in different productive sectors. Following the proper hygiene guidelines and eager to continue delivering its edutainment experience, KidZania Kuala Lumpur reopened its doors on July 18th.

Last week, KidZania Dallas voluntarily closed on 17 March, becoming one of the first attractions in Texas to implement this action. This facility is taking extra health and safety precautions as it opens to 50% capacity. Some of these measures include regular sanitization of all surfaces, mandatory temperature check to enter, mandatory face coverings at all times for visitors aged 4 and older, and social distancing in high-traffic areas. Also, a deep-clean will take place before the facility opens and closes.

On 31 July, KidZania Dallas welcomed children and families eager to spend a day of fun and learning once again.

Finally, KidZania Istanbul voluntarily closed its doors on March 14th, after local authorities mandated the suspension of activities in schools. After almost 5 months, this Metropolis developed the ‘Healthy and Safe KidZania Experience’ principles, which consists of four basic rules regarding social distance, facemask use, minimum contact and maximum hygiene. These principles were complemented with additional hygiene measures including a ventilation system with similar technology used by NASA to filter air in space stations and shuttles. KidZania Istanbul reopened its doors to 60% capacity on 1 August.
