New-look Dreamland opening next month

Dreamland in Margate is set to enter a “new era” when the updated and re-landscaped amusement park is unveiled on 28th April, following a makeover.

The seaside attraction will see a wealth of “new and rejuvenated” features on offer, including vintage rides, landscaped gardens, live music, art installations and street food.

It comes after a £15million overhaul was announced by operator Sands Heritage, who said the injection of funds from offshore company Arrowgrass would pay for new rides, restoration of existing attractions and major upgrades to its indoor and outdoor event spaces.

Jennie Double, commercial director at Dreamland Margate, said: “We cannot wait to unveil the new park to locals and visitors alike.

“By combining contemporary food and culture with authentic vintage rides and the uniquely British heritage that only we can offer – we believe we’ve captured something truly special with this newly imagined incarnation of Dreamland.”

Dreamland Margate will be opening up 195 seasonal jobs across the business this summer.

Bernie Morgan, chair of the Dreamland Trust, said: “It is very good news that Dreamland is continuing to grow its attractions, which should encourage additional visitors and make it even more popular.

“We are also delighted with the operator’s commitment to the heritage of the site, which includes the vintage rides. This is very important to us and the local community. The Trust will continue to support any positive changes helping to safeguard Dreamland’s unique offer and sustainable future.”
