A countdown is currently in progress at NASA’s spaceport in Florida, until the public will have the opportunity to witness a rocket engine test from an unprecedented vantage point—directly beneath the engine’s nozzle.

The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex has revealed plans for the launch of The Gantry at LC-39, a previously utilized launch pad viewing tower that has been refurbished to offer an “innovative, interactive experience,” featuring a simulated rocket engine test fire.

This newly designed attraction is expected to open in early 2025, becoming a regular highlight on the visitor complex’s bus tour of the NASA launch site.

“The Gantry at LC-39 is an exciting next step in our mission to inspire and educate the next generation of explorers”

Said Therrin Protze, chief operating officer at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex

“This new attraction brings the stories around NASA’s research to monitor our planet and innovative interactives to offer a deeper connection to the space program through a unique and dramatic lens.”
