Bodmin Jail has been recognised as one of Cornwall’s standout attractions, winning the title of Best Adventure & Attractions at the 2025 Cornwall Living Awards.
The historic venue, known for its immersive storytelling and eerie past, was praised for offering visitors a captivating experience that blends Cornwall’s darker history with modern technology.
Jess Marlton, general manager at Bodmin Jail, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive this award. It is a testament to the hard work and passion of our entire team, and to the guests who continue to explore and engage with the Jail’s haunting past in ever-growing numbers.
“Winning ‘Best Adventure & Attractions’ shows how powerful Cornwall’s history can be when brought to life in new and exciting ways.”
The award comes as Bodmin Jail prepares to launch a new Paranormal Audio Trail , which will be included free with all self-guided entry tickets.
The trail promises to immerse guests in some of the jail’s spookiest tales, featuring atmospheric soundscapes, first-hand accounts of supernatural encounters, and stories drawn from the site’s ghostly reputation.
Using sound design and insights from the Bodmin Jail team, the audio experience is designed to take visitors deeper into the legends and paranormal happenings that surround the former prison.
