Xavage adventure park sets a date for grand opening

Riviera Maya’s newest extreme adventure park is set to welcome the public on April 1th, 2019.
The new park, developed by provider of thrilling, eco-friendly experiences, Grupo Xcaret, is the result of a US$78m investment that has transformed 57 acres in Riviera Maya. Xavage now invites guests to unleash their wild side and explore the jungles of the area, seven days a week, through numerous activities that the whole family can enjoy.
- Barracuda: An exhilarating whitewater rafting along almost 2,000 ft. of artificial rapids.
- Puma: An extreme route on ATV rock crawlers through an obstacle course.
- Dragonfly: A high-speed jetboat ride piloted by an expert captain with unpredictable twists and turns.
- Hawk: A 1,500-foot horizontal zipline circuit set high above at 65 feet in the air.
- Howler Monkey: A rope circuit between treetops that tests strength, balance and coordination.
- Crocodile: A kayaking tour that takes explorers along Cancun’s unique canals.

“It is with great pleasure that we expand the Grupo Xcaret family with yet another nature-driven development that will entice adventure-seeking travelers to visit our destination within a destination,” said Marcos Constandse, VP of Finance and Business Administration at Grupo Xcaret. “We are continuously evolving and adapting to traveller’s demands and preferences, and knew we needed to cater to repeat visitors and those searching for outdoor excitement unlike any other. Grupo Xcaret continues to grow, in 2017 we opened Hotel Xcaret Mexico and in 2020 we will open La Casa de la Playa, the most luxurious boutique hotel in the Americas,” he added.
The Xavage project began in 2013 with thorough topography studies to determine the best way to use and enhance the land’s attractions while being respectful of its ecosystem, with park construction beginning in 2017.
The park will offer the only whitewater rapids in Cancun and Riviera Maya, bringing adventure excursions to a whole new level. Other park facilities include a buffet-style restaurant, six shops, rest areas with hammocks and lounge chairs, dressing rooms and lockers.
Located only 4.5 miles (7 kilometres) away from the Cancun International Airport, and generating 362 direct jobs, Grupo Xcaret has gone to great lengths to provide the safest and most breath-taking activities in the regions. All employees have received extensive training and lifeguards, guides and captains are certified in emergency response. In addition, visitors are required to wear a helmet during all activities, a life jacket in any water activity, a harness for any air activity and a seatbelt while operating vehicles.
