Dutch theme park Efteling is marking its 65th anniversary with the opening of a new holiday village – Efteling Loonsche Land.
Over the past year, Efteling has built a hotel and holiday homes in the northern part of the nature district. The accommodation has a total of 1,000 beds, above, on top of, or under the ground. The park is aiming to achieve visitor numbers of five million per year by 2020. Currently visitor numbers total 4.76m a year.
Since the opening in 1952, more than 130 million people have visited the park which has grown to become one of Europe’s largest. It was ranked in the top 25 theme parks in the world, according to the Tea Theme Index 2015.
