‘The Scent of Blackpool’ concocted for charity theme park musical

UK-based composer for theme parks, Nick Hutson, has written a musical inspired by – and starring – theme park fans.
With lockdown keeping everyone at home, the show, which is set in Blackpool, will be available to enjoy on Nick’s YouTube channel. Listeners will be encouraged to donate to CALM, a charity who offer suicide-prevention support.

To help people break free of lockdown, and feel like they’re immersed in a real adventure while they listen to the show, a Blackpool-inspired fragrance has been created. AromaPrime, who concoct smells for attractions like Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and Blackpool Pleasure Beach, made this fragrance and will donate all profits to CALM.

AromaPrime’s website describes the special scent: ‘The strong essence of the Blackpool ocean is carried by the wind, splattering against vast roller coasters of wood and steel. You take a whiff and know that the theme park opening weekend has begun! This aroma carries powerful notes of the crashing sea, supported by hints of old, salty wood – each element inspired by the classic Blackpool atmosphere.’

The show will be premiering at 7:30PM on 6th February on YouTube (see @NickHutsonMusic on Twitter for details).
