These services will run every day from Friday 27 December 2024 to Sunday 5 January 2025. Departing at 11:10am (10:15am on Sundays) from Pickering and 2:30pm departure from Whitby. The journey time is approximately 1h & 45m in each direction – leaving time for visitors to explore the seaside town of Whitby for over an hour and a half.
These enchanting steam-hauled journeys offer a unique 36-mile round trip through breathtaking scenery, ending in the coastal town of Whitby. Starting off at the historic Pickering Station, travellers can enjoy the serene beauty of the snow-dusted moorland from the comfort of heritage carriages.
The excursions are perfect for post-Christmas adventures, providing a way to escape the indoors and create cherished memories. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore so much of what Whitby has to offer, including its charming harbour, or simply experience the seasonal atmosphere of the seaside town.
