“Shaun the Sheep is a favourite with customers of all ages,” says James Anderson, General Manager, Namco Prize Europe. “The new range is cute and fun and we have high expectations. Shaun is already huge as you can see from the 3.3m likes his character has on Facebook. We expect his popularity to rise still further over the next 12 months due to Shaun getting his own movie next year and so the brand will receive a lot of publicity over the upcoming months.”

Aardman Animation has just announced some new licensing deals for the Shaun the Sheep character to maximise interest in the run-up to the movie. These include a Pan-European deal with Giromax for trading cards and collectables and an agreement with Legler for a range of wooden toys and games. Walker Books will be a publishing partner for a new collection of Shaun the Sheep The Movie books, including activity books and a junior novelisation. Therefore, the Shaun the Sheep character will have a larger retail presence in the upcoming months, increasing its profile still further.
