PARKS: New Italian food park opening

A new theme park is opening in Bologna Italy, themed around Italian food.

Scheduled to open in November, FICO Eataly World will span 100,000-square-meters to become “the world’s largest agri-food park,” according to the company’s website.

The park will feature almost five acres of open-air fields and stables, 40 food factories to understand how food – such as meat, fish, pasta, cheese, oil, sweets and beer – is processed, and up to 30 daily events and 50 classes that can take part in.

The park will also feature shops and marketplaces, six educational rides—themed after fire, earth, sea, animals, bottled goods and the future—a congress centre for meetings and conferences, and a foundation with three universities.

It will house 40 traditional Italian restaurants, from starred restaurants and trattorias to bistros and street-food kiosks.
