With 23 locations across the United States and Canada, Great Wolf Lodge is now eyeing up expansion into the UK with three proposed sites.
The North American brand, which boasts the “largest family of indoor waterpark resorts”, plans to build three lodges in Hampshire, Oxfordshire, and Derbyshire.
Great Wolf Lodge, essentially America’s version of Center Parcs, offers family accommodation, vast indoor waterparks filled with slides, multiple swimming pools, wave machines and an array of activities to keep the whole family entertained, from mini golf to arcade games.
The arrival of Great Wolf Lodge in the UK is anticipated to bring a “world-class leisure facility to the region”, attracting tourists and creating “hundreds of job opportunities”.
Construction work on the initial £200 million hotel complex has already begun, taking place on a former golf course in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
The site will feature the famous adventure and waterpark, as well as family accommodation and a host of additional activities.
Whilst no confirmed opening date has been revealed, it’s expected that the new family destination will feature similar amenities to Great Wolf Lodge’s locations in America.
In the US, these resorts boast everything you’d anticipate at a family retreat, including red cabin-style buildings, timber constructions, colourful interiors, large fireplaces and even a mascot called Wiley the Wolf.
A family of four can expect to pay roughly £150 per night at Great Wolf Lodge.
