With plans to open 24 theme parks and more than 400 entertainment centres in Saudi Arabia, MENALAC says it is “extremely excited” about the upcoming SEA Expo in the country which will focus on the future diversification of the industry.

Saudi Arabia plans to attract over 100 million visitors annually by 2030 with religious tourism, public and private sector entities collaborating to fuel leisure and entertainment offerings.

Mishal Al Hokair, president of MENALAC and deputy CEO of Al Hokair Group, said: “The Saudi leisure and entertainment market holds significant growth potential and like the past years, MENALAC members will be in full force at SEA Expo.

“We are extremely excited about the upcoming Expo that will focus on the diversifying prospects of the industry. The leisure landscape in Saudi Arabia has been quite rich historically, with family entertainment centres being anchor tenants in all prominent malls.

“Over the years, as investment into the sector increased, the offerings have become more refined. High quality and exciting homegrown brands are now rubbing shoulders with international concepts offering guests considerable choice.

“The diversity is set to increase further with scheduled openings of museums and historical sites, art and culture venues, mega entertainment projects that will boost tourism.”

The Saudi Entertainment and Amusement (SEA) Expo is set to take place from 28-30 May at Riyadh’s International Convention Centre.
