The 2025 Maryland State Fair is almost here, featuring three weekends of excitement, running from August 21-24, August 28-September 1, and September 4-7.
The state fair is the spot to enjoy food vendors, rides, games, shopping, and of course, free entertainment.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of free entertainment options, including horse racing, glass blowing demonstrations, and interactive animal shows.
Horse racing enthusiasts can enjoy seven days of thrilling races from August 22-24 and August 29-September 1. The races, featuring highly-trained thoroughbreds, will take place at the grandstand with post times starting at 12:10pm each race day.
For those interested in the arts, Mobile Glass Studio artist Nate Avery will perform live glass-blowing demonstrations during the first weekend of the fair. The demonstrations will occur on Thursday, August 21, from 5pm to 8pm, and on Friday and Saturday, August 22-23, from 2pm to 8pm.
Animal lovers can enjoy the Otter Show, featuring playful otters in an interactive aquatic performance. The show will run all weekends, with performances on Thursdays at 6pm and 8pm, and on Fridays through Sundays and Labor Day Monday at 12pm, 3pm and 6pm.
The Swifty Swine Racing Pigs will also return for another season of pig races, with events scheduled all weekends. Races will take place on Thursdays at 5:30pm and 7pm, and on Fridays through Sundays and Labor Day Monday at 12:30pm, 2:30pm, 4:30pm, 6:30pm, and 8pm.
The fair’s concert series, presented by M&T Bank, will feature performances by Maddox Batson with opening acts Emma White and Ashley Anne on Saturday, September 6, and the Marshall Tucker Band with special guest Orianthi on Friday, September 5.
Concerts begin at 7pm, with gates opening at 6pm. General admission lawn tickets are priced at $40 each, and concert tickets include fair admission.
On Sunday, September 7, the fair will host “Sunday Morning Tunes”, featuring Grateful Dead & Phish for Kids. The show starts at 11:30am, with gates opening at 11am.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $16 for children 11 and under, or $80 for a family 4-pack. Children 3 and over will need a ticket for the event.
