Omniverse creator heads to Vegas

Virtuix, developer of the Omni virtual reality entertainment system, is participating in the inaugural Virtual Reality Educational Summit at the upcoming Amusement Expo International to be held on Tuesday, 27th February at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
CEO Jan Goetgeluk will provide insights and data on how location-based VR operators can maximise their ROI from VR attractions by selecting the right content and equipment for their audience.
The firm will also exhibit the Omni entertainment system on the show floor together with global distributor UNIS. The Omni motion platform is the main component of UNIS’s Omni Arena VR attraction. Visitors can try out the Omni at booth #437.
In the leadup to the show, Virtuix announced that it has shipped more than 2,500 Omni units through its global distributor network, installing in close to 500 commercial locations around the world.
This month Virtuix added a new VR game, Vindicta, to its Omniverse content platform which is the Omni’s proprietary content delivery and arcade management platform, offering Omni players fifteen VR games to choose from. Virtuix plans seven more game releases this year. Together, customers have played more than one million minutes on Omniverse to date, says the firm.
“We’re very excited to show our latest Omni improvements and Omniverse games at the Amusement Expo,” said Jan Goetgeluk, founder and CEO of Virtuix. “Ever since we launched our Omniverse gaming platform, the Omni has become an entertainment hit at VR arcades and top FECs around the world like Rec Room in Calgary or PlayTime Crown in Melbourne. We look forward to introducing the latest Omni technology to FEC operators from the US and elsewhere.”
