Sound Leisure, has confirmed that it has acquired the 50 per cent of the shares previously held by the family of co-founder Eddie Moss, giving it a 100 per cent shareholding of the company.
Alan Black and Eddie Moss established Sound Leisure in 1978 and built the business up to become a key supplier of jukeboxes in the UK, to the consumer and retail trade. Eddie Moss died in 2014, but before his death he had passed on his shares to his son, Kevin.
“Eddie and my father had a wonderful partnership and friendship and both families remain extremely close,” said Chris Black, managing director. “However, with Kevin having lived abroad for the last 20 years and my brother, Michael, my wife Cath and myself involved in the day to day running of the company, alongside dad – it made sense to bring the remaining shares back into our family.
Sound Leisure remains the world’s oldest single ownership jukebox manufacturer, celebrating 40 years in the trade next year. In 2016, it signed a deal with the world’s largest digital jukebox manufacturer, TouchTunes, in an effort to revitalise the supply of digital Jukeboxes to the UK pub retail sector.
