FEC: New Dubai mall hosts FEC/attractions

Another new mall is about to spring up in Dubai, boasting a family entertainment centre and other attractions.

Arabtec Holding has won a $98.8 milion contract to build the new mall at the Emaar South project, which is a joint venture between Emaar Properties and the Dubai World Trade Centre. It will feature more than 15,000 homes around a golf course on a seven square kilometre portion of the Dubai South site that will contain the new mall, hotels, community parks, schools and other facilities.

The ground level will contain parking and a hypermarket. The first and second floors will house retail, food and beverage units, a cinema, a family entertainment centre and a food court. Work is set to start on site this month.

Dubai South is a 145 square kilometre site that not only houses Emaar South but also the Al Maktoum International Airport, the Expo 2020 site, a logistics district and a residential district containing up to 10,000 new homes.
