Global Leisure Group acquires HPS Play Company Dubai

Following two previous acquisitions in February and June, the Global Leisure Group has announced its third large acquisition of the year. The Global Leisure Group, with brands like SPI Global Play, Sidijk, The Play Installation Company and Playlife, has expanded its portfolio by acquiring a group of companies including HPS Play Company in Dubai and HPEET LLC in Abu Dhabi.

HPS Play Company specialises in bespoke leisure and adventure solutions and is a leader when it comes to customised playgrounds and adventure spaces in the Middle East North African (MENA) region. With its headquarters in Dubai and a creative production facility in Abu Dhabi, HPS Play Company is able to deliver a diverse range of turn-key entertainment concepts for amusement & theme parks, shopping malls, adventure parks, zoos, hotels and resorts, airports and more.

Thomas Mitmannsgruber, CEO of HPS Play Company, commented: “To stay strong in the future, we needed to look ahead. We see a lot of opportunities in the market for the coming years, but as a standalone company we were limited. By joining the group we have more capacity, access to financial solutions and a pile of new knowledge to draw from, which enables us to capitalize on far more opportunities that lie ahead.”

With a well-known international customer base that includes names like SeaWorld, Majid Al Futtaim, Atlantis the Palm, EMAAR, Mattel, IMG Worlds of Adventures, Landmark Leisure, Dubai Safari Park & Zoo, HPS Play Company shows it’s calibre to deliver high class adventure & entertainment developments of any scale.

Mikael Wettergren, CEO of the Global Leisure Group, believes that the acquisition is an important step for the group to reach its goal to be and become world’s leading organisation in the Play & Leisure segment.

“HPS Play Company is a very strong and independent company that has a profound knowledge of its local market and a wide network of partners and suppliers within that area. This new partnership is a stepping stone to reach our goal to “be global, act local” and provide our customers around the globe the best Leisure and Play solutions.”

With this new acquisition the Global Leisure Group has extended its portfolio of acquired companies to a number of eighteen and, for the first time, expanded its facilities into the Middle East.
