ATTRACTIONS: Foxnext hires former Disney exec

FoxNext has hired former Disney exec Marc Zachary as senior vice president of Business Development to boost its location-based attraction division, FoxNext Destinations.

Zachary will lead FoxNext Destinations’ business deals and partnerships across theme park attractions and all location-based entertainment worldwide. He will report to Mehta and work alongside Jennifer Koblosky, Vice President of Projects for FoxNext Destinations.

Prior to joining FoxNext, Zachary was vice president, Business Development and Operations for Disney Consumer Products & Interactive Media, where he focused on franchise extensions ranging from augmented reality initiatives to theme park shows.

FoxNext Destinations is currently developing the 20th Century Fox World theme park in Malaysia’s Genting Highlands and an Alien Free-Roam VR Experience with IP2 Entertainment. The division’s current projects include Alien Escape at Madame Tussauds London, Avatar: Discover Pandora, an interactive touring exhibition currently in Bangkok, and FX’s American Horror Story at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios.

“As we look to aggressively expand our plans around theme parks and location-based entertainment, we are fortunate to have an executive as skilled and passionate as Marc on the team. His expertise will help us expand our portfolio to locations around the world,” commented Mehta.
