ARCADES: Sega ups Daytona production

Sega says it has had to up production for its new driving game Daytona Championship USA.

The company recently reported that operators are saying it’s the “number one driver on location”; and additionally to meet demand they had expanded manufacturer to a second factory.

Justin Burke, general manager at Sega, commented: “Now the first wave of machines are on location we are getting requests from operators for more machines for their estate – you can’t ask for more than that! Phil Ellis of Teenspirit in Skegness UK, is a prime example saying ‘as soon as Daytona was launched we knew we had to have it, we are really pleased with the income, and have now ordered extra ones for the other sites’.”

Vince Moreno, sales manager at Sega added:  “We are shipping games as fast as we can build them, in order to keep up with this we have two dedicated factories. I have operators all over the country saying Daytona is their number one driver! In our efforts not to disappoint customers, we encourage them to place their orders as soon as possible.”
