A big old ‘BOO!’ as happy Halloween HQ gets ready for a Southport “spooktacular”!

Southport is the UK’s new ‘spook central’ for Halloween’s friendly witches, spooks and spectres.

When the town’s Pleasureland amusement park reaches the end of the 2014 summer season it will adopts a whole new character for the autumn – as it transforms into the nation’s Halloween capital.

The park will re-open for October half term as Happy Halloween, a magical, thrilling and chilling spooktacular, ideal for families.

Happy Halloween will see the park turned over to a land of wonky witches, spooky skeletons, grumpy ghosts and plenty of silly, friendly, monsters who love nothing more than helping deliver traditional family entertainment during the season of ‘Boo!’.

Suitable for the whole family, entertainments at the park will include:

  • Pumpkin gardens
  • Halloween Panto Performances – think Grimm’s Fairy Tales meet Roald Dahl’s The Witches
  • Haunted House UV Puppet Theatre
  • Trick or Treat Streets
  • Magical street theatre with plenty of spooky characters, scarecrows, witches and funny stuff
  • Magic tricks to tickle your funny bone and plenty treats the kids will love
  • And unlimited access to the park’s rides – manned by some very strange attendants!

Park owner Norman Wallis said:  “We know just how much kids love Halloween, and we have the perfect safe and secure environment for them to enjoy some trick or treat activity and a whole lot more.  Kids can interact with spooky characters, watch one of our Halloween performances and see glowing UV puppets act out a ghostly tale in their own mini haunted house.

“The big scare experiences are great – and we’re huge fans – but we thought it was time that some attention was paid to delivering a fun, happy Halloween experience that the whole family could enjoy.  Our family Halloween experience is not about scaring people – we’re about making them laugh and helping them enjoy themselves.”

Because this is Happy Halloween’s first year the park, which has struck a deal with ACC Liverpool Arena’s Ticket Quarter for ticketing, is offering some incredible half price early bird deals throughout August.

An all-day event, tickets are £20, with an early bird offer of £10 for August.
