As snow melts away in the Norwegian mountains, BoldMove reports that the installation of its newest media dark ride in Hunderfossen Familiepark is on track for opening this June.

Rally Flåklypa will complete the themed area around Norway’s famous inventor Reodor Felgen and his friends, featured in a series of successful animation movies. Park guests can engage this summer in an exciting race from Paris to the Pyramids, created through a combination of smart technologies, immersive storytelling and 3D decoration.

Synchronised media & vehicle movements
Together with the park’s technical team the installations are firming up to accommodate the new Rogue Rides trackless ride system and the final media footage from Qvisten Animation.

Fitting all elements in an existing building on a rather compact space requires smart and practical moves like cutting views and working with perspectives from different angles. However, a small space is also grateful for theming as it easily fills up and feels more intimate.

A fully automated preshow will guide guests through the queue line, with the main characters informing them of the rally mission. Il Tempo Gigante race car, recently revealed at Oslo Airport, can be admired from different sides during the ride experience.

To make the ride as immersive as possible and enhance the excitement, technologies like projection and special effects are being used, with all equipment well hidden from the visitors.

Media and vehicle movements are fully synchronised into a compelling experience. Two test installations with the actual ceiling-high screens, media and vehicles have allowed the team to finetune trajectories and media animation.

BoldMove’s new Kamino show control system drives vehicles, AV, special effects and media to run a seamless show.

“We are excited to see the attraction come together after all the preparations and construction work,” said Hogne Høstmælingen, park director at Hunderfossen Familiepark.

“This is one of our biggest investments since the park opened in 1984, and will strengthen our position as the Fairytale park. The combination of Norway’s strongest IP, funny new stories that come to life, and state-of-the-art technology will without doubt amaze our guests.”
