The Wizard of Oz is officially coming to one of the MOST popular theme parks in the world.
Warner Bros Movie World announced that the new themed land will be located in Australia, set to launch later this year.
@movieworldaus announced a recent tiktok, giving further details on the expansion, including two brand-new roller coasters. The first is the Kansas Twister, and the second ride is based on the ‘Wicked Witch of the West.’
The Wizard of Oz is a 1900 children’s novel, written by an author name L. Frank Baum.
A Kansas farm girl, named Dorothy and her pet dog Toto, are swept away from their home by a cyclone. To end up in a magical Land of Oz. Upon Dorothy’s arrival, she figures she cannot return home until she has ‘destroyed’ the Wicked Witch of the West.
The book was originally published in the US in 1900. The following year, the company had finished printing the first edition- a total amount of 10,000 copies.
By the late 20th century the 1939 film, The Wizard of Oz had become more familiar than the book on which it was based.
